Alex Thompson is a Risk Advisor in Scott Insurance’s Private Equity Practice, where he works with private equity sponsors and portfolio companies to deliver strategic solutions aligned with transaction and growth objectives. With a strong background in M&A financing, Alex brings a capital‑aware perspective to risk management, helping clients navigate complexity across acquisitions, ownership transitions, and long‑term value creation.

Prior to joining Scott, Alex spent nine years in commercial banking, specializing in M&A financing for middle‑market transactions. Most recently, he served as a Director on a Sponsor Finance team, where he partnered closely with private equity clients to source and execute acquisitions. His experience working alongside deal teams gives him a deep understanding of how insurance and risk strategy intersect with transaction timelines, capital structures, and portfolio performance.
