Josh Mason

Risk Advisor

Josh Mason is a Risk Advisor in Scott Insurance’s Private Equity Practice, where he advises private equity sponsors and portfolio companies on insurance and risk strategies that support transactions, operational performance, and long‑term growth. Josh brings a unique combination of insurance, safety, and investment banking experience, allowing him to approach risk from both an operational and financial perspective.

Prior to joining Scott, Josh spent eight years with a national commercial insurer in underwriting and loss control roles, partnering with middle‑market companies to evaluate risk, improve safety performance, and support long‑term risk management objectives. He later worked as a sell‑side investment banker, advising middle‑market insurance and healthcare companies on M&A strategy, valuation, diligence, and transaction execution. This blended background enables Josh to bridge the gap between insurance fundamentals and transaction‑driven decision‑making.
